I have always enjoyed a Chills gig, however this one would prove to be an exception!! Proceedings began with a ridiculously boring solo set from Jae Bedford...went for a wander outside!! Oddly I saw Martin Phillipps wandering around, looking more overweight than I remembered, sweating profusely with a towel around his neck...what was up?? No keyboardist tonight, instead Peter Gutteridge on fuzzed out garage guitar...didn't work at all!! Gutteridge left the stage a couple of songs in...M.P. says "he's got the flu!!"Halfway through the set, M.P. leaves after struggling to sing "Wet Blanket" says he also has the flu!! P.G. returns to go solo. M.P. returns to apologise and says "I hope you don't feel ripped off I feel you got a pretty good set!!" Hey. I truly felt ripped off and wanted at least $5 of my $10 returned. I won't pay to see this band again...but I hope M.P. sorts things out and captures at least a little of his former magic!!
