This building housed
the original Dunedin Synagogue built in the 1860's. When a new Synagogue
was constructed in the late 1880's the building was sold to the Masonic
Lodge who sold the building to the current owners in the early 1970's.
Much of the Masonic painted symbolism remains intact. Restoration is a
work in progress. Notice the panel which was erected by the Masons to
cover the windows sitting underneath one which still remains in place.
